Sample Ballots and the Voting System
This system was in use from 1965 to 1982. AVM had its roots in a number of voting machine companies founded in the 1890s, but by the 1980s, most of its business was in other fields. In the late 1950s, AVM had begun investing in the development of electronic voting machines. The company was purchased by Sequoia in 1984.

Democratic Party
As it is today, there were few Democrats in Pulaski County in 1976. The party selected a few items, including information about Representative Floyd Fithian and a hard-to-recognize political button of the winning Carter/Mondale ticket. A handwritten note is also included.
Republican Party
American Party
The American Party fielded candidates in every election, including President and Vice President. The American Party of Indiana ran a candidate for Senate as well as a local candidate.
