All members are welcome to volunteer with PCHS in any area of their interest and to attend meetings (held either in person or by weblink on the 3rd Thursday of the month, 6:00).

If historical articles from families and communities inspire you, you’ll be interested in our organization. Become a member of the Historical Society to learn about and help preserve the history that makes us more interesting.
Membership is by calendar year (January through December)
- Individual membership: $30
- Family membership: $40
- Sustaining membership: $80
Sponsorships
We value sponsorships, as they support us on an entirely different level! We preserve the history of the county in a variety of ways.
- Historical museum, Including both a physical space and online access to The Story of Us
- Educational programs
- Monthly e-newsletters with Local History
- Partnerships with local organizations
- Access to your family history through the County Genealogist (in partnership with the Genealogical Society)
- Access to general history through the County Historian
We do not charge for our services or programs (with the exception of special programs in which we provide supplies), or for entry into the museum. The only income available to us – to provide displays in the museum or to provide programming to the community – is through memberships and sponsorships.
We have the following sponsorship levels:
- New in 2026: Homestead ($2,500)

The settlement of Indiana, often referred to as the “homestead era,” took place throughout the early 1800s. Nodding to settler roots, we offer this new level. Sponsors at this level during this inaugural year will be named on a permanent plaque that will hang in the Museum. Deadline for your name on the plaque is 03.31.26.

Donations
We also accept donations of any amount! Our 501(c)3 organization allows donations to be tax-deductible. Any donation over the amount of membership dues will also gain you membership in the organization. Use the Donate button or the QR code (show the code in your camera’s viewfinder; it will give you an option to go to the PayPal website).
If this donation is a gift, please give us specific direction.
You will receive a certificate via email that can be printed and placed into a legal-sized envelope or printed on photo quality paper and framed.
