From 2019 through July 4, 2023, a local group came together to raise funds for one purpose: to light the Memorial Swinging Bridge at the Winamac Town Park.
The bridge turned 100 on July 4, 2023. The project succeeded, in large part because of its focus on Pulaski County Veterans. When the bridge was dedicated on July 4, 1923, it was named Memorial in honor of the “soldiers and sailors” from Pulaski County that served in all wars.
The following inserts are photos that were used in a variety of fundraising efforts. We know we have not captured all of the veterans of every war (the most completely documented service era was World War I), but we documented as many as we could in the time that we had. If we did not have a photo but we had a name, the name was listed.
