This page will be mainly photos, which will help you place the monuments on the property and will give you the names of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. NOTE: Photographs were taken at the end of the Courthouse renovation project. The grounds had been fenced off for over a year and were not in the best condition. The first two photos are to help you place them as you walk around to the west side of the Courthouse.

Civil War Memorial
Even though sympathies were divided, Pulaski County sent many young men to fight for the cause of the Union. Mentioned on the memorial are the 87th Indiana and the 46th Indiana. Another unit filled with many Pulaski County soldiers was the 27th Indiana.

WWI, WWII, Korea & Vietnam
This memorial also gives honor to the five branches of the United States Military.

Close up of the nameplate.

Honoring the Army and Air Force on the left; the insignia for the Coast Guard is at the bottom of the center panel.

Insignia for the Marines and Navy.

Igsignia for the Coast Guard, and a memorial stone for War Mothers.

The top panels list those killed in action or as a result of service in WWI.

The middle panel lists those from Pulaski County who were killed in action or died as a result of service in WWII.

Also near the memorial is a stone honoring Judge Harold Staffeldt, who served as Circuit Court Judge during the Ford Pinto Trial of 1980. This photo was taken after renovations of the Courthouse. It is hoped the stone will be placed – again – in an honorable location.

Vietnam Memorial
In 2024-25, a community fundraising effort focused on raising a memorial to honor those Pulaski County residents who served and remember those who died in the Vietnam era. It was raised in October 2025.
